We reach out to people in our local community in a variety of ways. With our Gift of Giving program at Christmas, we collect and distribute clothing, toys and food to several local families in partnership with the Jarvis Caring Cupboard.

Both Jarvis and Wesley are strong supporters of the Mission and Service Fund and the Disaster Relief Programs of the United Church of Canada, enabling us to participate in various outreach programs in Canada and around the world.

Our minister conducts services and visitation at local retirement homes for all residents in these homes.

The Wesley Congregation developed an outreach project with Jarvis Public School in which Wesley members organized and participate in delivering the school breakfast program. Members also assist with literacy tutoring and other volunteer programs at JPS.

Wesley also hosts Seasoned Souls, providing dinner and entertainment to seniors 55+ years of age on the final Friday night of the month. At the price of $10, which covers costs only, this program is delivered as an outreach service to seniors, and not as a fundraiser.
